You know it doesn't make sense. That's what makes it so frustrating.
The spider can't hurt you. The plane is statistically safer than the drive to the airport. The needle is over in seconds. And yet the fear arrives anyway — faster than any of that reasoning can catch it.
So you avoid. You plan around it. You miss things. And over time, the phobia stops being about the thing itself and starts being about everything it quietly takes away from you.
It doesn't have to keep doing that.

Phobias aren't logical. That's not a flaw in you — it's how they work.
At some point, your mind learned that this specific thing was dangerous. Maybe it was a single moment. Maybe it built up over time. Either way, a link got formed: this thing = danger. And once that link is made, it runs automatically, below conscious thought, faster than reasoning can reach.
This is why trying to talk yourself out of a phobia never works. You're using the thinking part of your brain to fight a response that lives somewhere faster. They're not even in the same conversation.
It's also why the fear often gets worse over time, not better. Every time you avoid the thing, your mind gets confirmation that it was right to be afraid. The pattern strengthens. The phobia grows.
We don't try to reason with the phobia. We don't ask you to face your fear. And we don't spend weeks talking about where it came from.
Instead, we work with the structure of the fear — the way your mind stores the memory and fires the response. Most phobias are anchored to a specific moment or pattern, and that anchor can be changed.
In one focused 90-minute session, we:
Most clients notice the shift immediately. Not "I think it might be better." Actually different. The thing that used to fire the fear response simply doesn't fire it anymore.
In-person in Canterbury, or online via Zoom — both work equally well. I prefer in-person when it's possible, but many clients choose Zoom for convenience and get exactly the same result. Your choice.

If your phobia isn't on this list, it doesn't mean I can't help. Most phobias respond to the same underlying approach, because they share the same structure.
The obvious change is that the phobia is gone or dramatically reduced. That's the point.
But there's usually a second change that clients mention more often:
The mental load disappears.
You stop planning around it. You stop scanning for exits. You stop having the same argument with yourself every time the situation comes up. A surprising amount of mental energy gets freed up — energy that was being spent managing the fear without you even realising it.
You don't become reckless. You don't suddenly love spiders or look forward to injections. You just stop having an outsized response to something that doesn't warrant one. Which is what "normal" feels like.
"I had a severe needle phobia for 30 years. After one session with Jason, I walked into the doctor's surgery calm and confident. I still can't believe it worked so fast."
Most clients experience complete freedom in one session. If you need a follow-up session, it's included at no extra charge.
Less than 8% of clients ever need it.
The session is 90 minutes. It's available in-person in the Canterbury area, or online via Zoom — whichever suits you.
The investment is £397.
If you're not sure whether your phobia is something I can help with, just ask. Most of the time, it is. You might also be interested in how hypnotherapy works alongside NLP, or in the 4-day NLP Diploma if you want to learn these tools for yourself.
