Access to Work Support for Neurodiverse Individuals | Get Funding & Coaching

Access the Support You Need to Succeed at Work

Neurodivergence brings unique strengths, and Access to Work Support helps ensure you have the right tools, coaching, and adjustments to thrive.

Navigating work as a neurodivergent individual can be challenging—not because of a lack of ability, but because many workplaces are not designed with neurodiversity in mind. Access to Work (ATW) is a government scheme that provides funding and support to help remove barriers so you can thrive in your role. Whether you’re employed or self-employed, ATW can fund adjustments that support your working style, focusing on what works for you rather than forcing you to fit into a system that wasn’t built for neurodivergent minds.

What Access to Work Can Provide

Access to Work is a UK government scheme designed to help disabled and neurodivergent individuals overcome workplace challenges. It provides funding for adjustments that level the playing field, so you can perform at your best.

What's covered?

  • Specialist neurodivergent coaching and mentoring: Practical strategies to support organization, time management, communication, and workplace navigation.
  • Assistive technology and software:Speech-to-text, screen readers, productivity tools, and other supports to reduce cognitive overload.
  • Workplace adjustments: Noise-canceling headphones, adjusted lighting, flexible work arrangements, and other environmental changes.
  • Advocacy and communication support: Helping colleagues and employers understand neurodivergence and create a more inclusive workplace.
  • Transport support: Funding for alternative travel options if public transport is a barrier due to sensory or executive functioning challenges.

For self-employed individuals, ATW can also help with funding business-related support, though some costs may need to be paid upfront and later reimbursed.

How Does It Work?

  1. Apply: Fill out the online application form (we can help with this!).
  2. Assessment: A workplace assessor will discuss your needs and recommend adjustments.
  3. Approval:Once approved, the government funds the support directly – no upfront costs for you.
  4. Ongoing support and adjustments: ATW funding can be renewed if your needs change or if further support is required."
⚠️ Important Note on Wait Times – Many applicants experience delays due to high demand, so it’s best to apply as soon as possible. While the process can take time, the long-term benefits are worth it for many individuals.

Supporting you in your development

Why Our Approach is Different

We understand that neurodivergence is not just a list of challenges—it’s a different way of thinking, learning, and interacting with the world. While some people describe their neurodivergence as a "superpower," others find that framing unhelpful. We take a strength-based approach, recognizing both abilities and barriers, and focusing on creating the right environment for you to thrive. Many support services fail to grasp the complexity of neurodivergence—how it can fluctuate depending on the environment, and how traditional workplace models often create unnecessary barriers. We do things differently. If you’re looking for clear, expert guidance on Access to Work, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
